Cloudy Lagoon was the site of a small industry, collecting large quantities of small white shells for glass making. 35 tons per week werre contracted by Australian glass manufacturers in Hobart. Cloudy Bay is part of the South Bruny Island National Park. Many rare and endangered species of birds nest in the dunes above the high-tide line. The Bruny Island Surf Classic, held at Cloudy Bay, has become a prestigious event on the Tasmanian surfing calendar.

Cloudy Corner: Access is from Cloudy Bay. Pit toilets, no water supply, limited access along the beach. Please stay on the hard sand at all times.

Jetty Beach: Access is off Lighthouse Road. Pit toilets, no water supply, picnic area & tables.

The 'Neck' Camping & Day-area: Access is off Lutregala Road. Pit toilets, no water supply, picnic tabels & beach access.

This privately owned 50 Acre property of private forest with ¾ klm of coast line is a little slice of paradise. This privately sheltered location is north east facing out of the prevailing winds. Long walks & coast line allow exploration of all the attractions of Bruny Island close by. Boats & pets are welcome. You will need to dispose of your own rubbish, some water is provided on site but bring additonal water. Wood is provided at your site and is part of the fee.
