What this site is

brunyisland.net.au is an independent visitor guide for planning a trip from Hobart: ferry, day trip, accommodation areas, food trail, things to do, The Neck, Cape Bruny Lighthouse, and a FAQ written for people and for answer engines.

We keep specific Tasmanian facts — operator name, drive times, Parks-published walk grades, lighthouse dates — and we refuse to invent live ferry times, fares, or “#1” rankings. When a detail can move, we mark it verify and link out.

This rebuild is not the old accommodation-booking brand that once sat near this domain. It does not impersonate SeaLink, Parks Tasmania, or any cellar door.

What we cannot do

We cannot:

• confirm a sailing, a fare, or a vehicle booking
• hold a room night or a campsite
• sell a cruise, a lighthouse tour, or a tasting
• tell you that a kitchen is open tonight without you checking
• provide legal, medical, or safety advice beyond ordinary visitor caution

For those jobs, use:

How the guide is edited

Pages and journal notes live in Keystatic as local files under content/. Drafts do not appear on the public site. Every money page is supposed to open with a direct answer, a definition, and a comparison table so visitors and answer engines can quote a sentence without scraping a novel.

We keep the Capes-tier IA: ferry, day trip, stay, food, things to do, The Neck, Cape Bruny Lighthouse, FAQ, contact. Internal links run down from hubs to children and back up to siblings. The journal is for evergreen planning essays — day-trip sequence, overnight booking list, food-trail order, kids, penguins, walks, and season — not a news feed and not a coupon page.

If you are pitching a guest contribution, it needs to be about Bruny as a place: a specific walk, a closed-door correction, an accessibility note. Generic “10 islands you must see” copy will not be used. Guest text remains the author’s copyright unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Privacy and the form

The form on this page does not store messages on our server. It opens your email app addressed to [email protected] with the subject and body you typed. If you would rather not use a mail client, write that address directly.

Do not send payment-card details, booking references you would not put on a postcard, or anyone else’s personal information. We cannot act on a reservation number.
