Timing tips

  • Check the current ferry timetable and book if travelling at peak times.
  • The lighthouse is about 40–45 minutes from Alonnah on gravel — do not leave it too late.
  • If choosing the cruise, book ahead and allow for check-in time.
  • Many producers close mid to late afternoon, especially outside summer.

Variations

  • Rainy day: swap the lighthouse for long lunches and producer tastings, and do The Neck lookout when the rain eases.
  • With kids: cruise in the morning (check age guidance), beach and ice-cream in Adventure Bay in the afternoon.
  • Walkers: replace the cruise with the Fluted Cape walk.
